What is a Stream Key? What is a Hostname?
When creating an RTMP live stream with a third-party app or streaming platform (e.g., OBS, WireCast, StreamYard, eCamm, etc.), you need to tell the app where to send the video stream.
PANDA provides both a stream key and a hostname so you can broadcast and host your live streams on your PANDA channel.
Hostname (also referred to as streaming URL, server, server URL). This is the URL that tells your streaming platform to send your broadcast to PANDA.
Stream key. This element directs your broadcast to a particular channel on PANDA.
Most streaming platforms will have you enter a hostname into one field and a stream key into a separate field. In some cases, such as with the Larix Broadcaster app, you may need to combine your hostname and stream key into a single URL.
To view and copy your stream key and stream URL for your broadcast, go to your RTMP broadcast settings.
