Add automatic chat messages to your broadcasts

PANDA allows you to add pre-scripted chat messages, or “auto chat,” to your broadcasts. The chat messages you add will appear at specified timestamps during your broadcasts, alongside any live chat that takes place. Auto chat messages will automatically appear when your broadcast streams live, as well as during replays.

Pre-scripted auto chat can be a great way to liven up your broadcasts and encourage engagement and interaction from your audience. You can either manually enter individual chat messages or upload an entire chat script at once.

To access auto chat options for a broadcast:

1: Navigate to the Control Room for your broadcast.
2: Click the Overview tab below the video player.
3: Click the Configure Autochat button.

To manually enter individual auto chat messages:

Under the Auto Chat heading, enter information into the following fields:

The timestamp. Enter the timestamp for when you want a chat message to appear during your broadcast. Times entered are relative to the start time of the video. Enter your timestamp in hours, minutes, and seconds in this format: 0:00:00.
- For example, 0:00:06 is 6 seconds into the broadcast. 1:13:59 is 1 hour, 13 minutes, and 59 seconds into the broadcast.
The username. Enter a name for the “user” who will be saying the chat message. You can make up any username.
The chat message. Enter the message you want to add.

If desired, click the upload icon to the right of the timestamp field to upload an avatar pic that will appear next to the designated username during the chat.

Note: Avatar pictures will appear in a 1:1 aspect ratio after they are uploaded and cropped. (A 200x200 minimum resolution is recommended.)

Click the green Submit button to the right.

The chat message you added will now be listed in the Auto Chat section of this page, alongside any auto chat messages you previously added. All messages listed on this page will automatically appear during your live broadcast as well as during replays at the designated timestamps.

After the livestream of your broadcast, you can continue to add auto chat messages using the steps above, and they will appear during replays. You can also edit or delete your auto chat messages before or after your broadcast airs.
